What does it consist of?

The YEY Course is a comprehensive once weekly, 11 sessions program designed to empower Lebanese students with the skills and knowledge to understand and manage their emotions effectively.

It is youth-led and based on interactive learning tools and activities. Students and/or adolescents will develop EI competencies, enhancing their interpersonal capacities at regulating emotions, managing stress but also optimizing social relationships, decision-making abilities, and overall well-being.

How do we do the training?

The training includes group role-playing exercises, group discussions and debates around cultural aspects related to emotional expression.

It also exposes students to various skillup activities such as mindfulness and relaxation exercises as well as journaling and positive communication.

Our program empowers vulnerable Lebanese youth in public schools, who are currently facing a variety of challenges that put them at risk of deteriorating mental health.

YEY’s aim is to help them effectively transform their unique challenges into growth opportunities by enhancing their emotional acceptance and awareness.

Emotional Identification: In this initial step, we will focus on cultivating self-awareness and the ability to identify and label our emotions accurately. You will learn to recognize the subtle nuances of various emotions, understand their impact on your thoughts and behavior, and gain insight into how emotions manifest uniquely in different situations.

Emotional Understanding

Building upon the foundation of emotional identification, this step will delve deeper into the realm of emotional intelligence. You will explore the underlying causes and drivers of emotions, examining the connections between your thoughts, beliefs, and feelings. By developing a comprehensive understanding of emotions, you will gain valuable insights into their purpose and meaning in your life.

Emotional Expression

In this phase, we will explore the art of authentic emotional expression. You will learn to communicate your emotions effectively, both verbally and non-verbally, while considering the impact on yourself and others. By mastering the skill of expressing emotions in a healthy and constructive manner, you can foster stronger relationships, resolve conflicts, and cultivate a supportive environment around you.

Emotional Regulation

Emotional regulation is the cornerstone of emotional intelligence. In this step, we will focus on developing techniques and strategies to manage and regulate your emotions skillfully.
