What is Trait emotional intelligence?
Trait Emotional intelligence (trait EI), as defined by one of our International Collaborators and leading figure in the construct, K.V. Petrides, is a constellation of perceptions and dispositions about our emotional processing, encompassing factors of self-control, emotionality, sociability and well-being. Trait EI factors and facets are organized into five Emotional Competencies: identification, understanding, expression, regulation, and utilization of emotions.
Trait EI predicts positive life outcomes including academic and job performance, better interpersonal relationships, and overall well-being.

Invest in yourself
Trait Emotional Intelligence encompasses a set of perceptions related to our cognitive awareness, understanding, and control of both our own emotions and those of others. Emotional intelligence is always capable of improvement and further development, especially in youth.
Studies indicate that enhancing Emotional Intelligence leads to numerous positive life outcomes, such as improvements in education and job-related achievements, enhanced quality of social relationships, and increased life satisfaction.
Enhanced quality of life
Improving EI enhances self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management while decreasing (Kotsou et al., 2019) while decreasing mental illness and stress (Petrides et al., 2016).
Real-life usefulness
Emotional intelligence has been linked to improved job performance, enhanced leadership effectiveness, and overall well-being (Van Rooy & Viswesvaran’s, 2004).
Improved skills
Improving problem solving capacities on a personal and social level (Garaigordobil & Peña-Sarrionandia, 2015)

What we offer?
Our program originally aimed to empower vulnerable Lebanese youth in public schools, aged between 14 and 21, facing various challenges that posed a risk to their mental health. However, we proudly announce that our training is open to anyone seeking to improve their life through emotional intelligence. YEY’s goal is to enhance the quality of life and instill a sense of purpose through emotional training.

Roni’s Testimony
Being a Youth Leader in the Yes to Emotions in Youth (YEY) program was a profoundly fulfilling experience. Over the course of the program, it was reinforcing seeing the students being empowered by their emotions, showing remarkable progress and growth on a variety of levels. I was able to witness how YEY allowed the students to navigate through their emotions with confidence, witnessing their increased self-awareness, emotional resilience, and improved interpersonal skills. I am honored to have played a role in the students’ journey towards emotional well-being.
