Testimonies of our students

After I took this program, I became more understanding to myself and to others, I was more capable of controlling my own emotions, as well as able to calm myself easier when I needed to. As such, I would suggest that this program become an official course to be implemented in schools curriculums, because I think that for an individual to handle life's difficulties properly, it is important for every person to be emotionally intelligent.

The program helped me understand myself and the people around me better. It enabled me to decide what to do and how to find solutions when I encounter a problem. Additionally, listening to my friends and considering different perspectives during the sessions helped me understand and see things more clearly.

I believe everyone needs to participate in a program like this because most people weren’t taught how to express and deal with their emotions growing up. It might help them, just as it helped me, to understand and deal with their emotions in a healthier way. I learned not to take everything personally; just because a person might be acting a certain way doesn’t mean they hate me. It simply means they might be dealing with something.

I feel like I am more relaxed after the program, I can sleep better, and I am not as nervous as before. Moreover, my relationships with others have been improving ever since I started applying what I am learning. In addition to that, I feel I can organize my schedule better now and use my emotions to improve my skills.

About the training

Our program empowers vulnerable Lebanese youth in public schools, aged between 14 and 21, who are currently facing a variety of challenges that put them at risk of deteriorating mental health. YEY’s aim is to help them effectively transform their unique challenges into growth opportunities by enhancing their emotional acceptance and awareness.

This approach aims to enhance emotional competences, decrease emotional distress, and lower the risk of future emotional challenges. It also improves overall quality of life, boosts resilience and emotional strength, and enhances the ability to accept and manage intense emotions.
